This woman unearthed an incredible gift from her late grandmother - and the internet can't handle it

Six years after Jasmine Dena’s grandmother passed away, the teen chanced across a book that held an astonishing discovery.

Having recently found out that her grandmother, Elisa Guerrero, was a published poet, the 19-year-old made it her mission to track down her work.

But when the avid poetry fan – who divides her time between Boston and LA – finally laid hands on the tome, she unearthed far more than she had bargained for.

Taking to Twitter to share the sweet news, Dena explained that – as she flicked through the book -she was surprised to find that her grandmother had penned a poem about her, titled simply ‘Jazmine’.

While the original poem is in Spanish, Dena provided an English translation on Twitter – and it is a truly beautiful tribute.

After losing her grandmother to cancer in 2011, the touching dedication was an extraordinary find that moved Dena to the core.

“I felt such unconditional love,” she told Remezcla. “I wanted to thank her and tell her I love and miss her so so so so much.”

And it seems that the unknown poem has struck a chord with the rest of the world, too; at the time of writing, Dena’s post has received 174,000 likes and has been re-tweeted 46,000 times.

Here are just a few of the people on Twitter who shared in Dena’s joy at the discovery:

The poem was published in Antologia Poetica del Jerezano Ausente – a book that’s seemingly no longer in print. But Dena has plans to preserve her grandmother’s work with an e-book:

In the perfect ending to such an uplifting tale, Dena revealed that her grandfather is absolutely thrilled by the response to his late wife’s work:
