As soon as Stylist heard that one of our favourite actresses, Michelle Williams was set to play screen legend Marilyn Monroe, we were a little excited (and nervous) to see how the film would turn out.

Now, the trailer and the first reviews for My Week With Marilyn have been released, and it seems Monroe fans can breathe a sigh of relief - the film has been applauded for its unique and sensitive portrayal of the Hollywood pin-up.

Based on two books by Colin Clark, a former assistant on the set of 1957 film The Prince and the Showgirl (starring Monroe and Laurence Olivier), it depicts the making of the film, and the week in which Monroe spent time being escorted around Britain by Clark (played by Eddie Redmaybe), in the absence of her husband, Arthur Miller. Other notable cast members include a host of British actors, including Dominic West, Emma Watson and Dame Judi Dench.

So will Michelle make a good Marilyn? Watch the trailer below and tweet us @StylistMagazine to let us know your thoughts.
