Last night saw New York's most stylish names out in force for the 8th Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards hosted by the US Vogue editor, Anna Wintour.
The prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America supports the professional development and scholarships of American designers. This year's winner of the $300,000 prize money is Joseph Altuzarra -a name that has been on the lips of the fashion cognoscenti for months. How apt then that to present him with his award was the girl of the moment Rooney Mara. Her name may not be thoroughly recognisable right now but soon everyone will know who she is. Very much the one to watch, Mara is the star of the highly-anticipated US film version of the Swedish hit and best selling book, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Directed by David Fincher, Mara, who has already graced the cover of US Vogue, courtesy of the magazine's influential figurehead, Wintour, has been signed up to star in all three films in the trilogy.
Looking striking in Calvin Klein (and burgundy lips), Mara admittedly had some competition in the fashion stakes from the likes of models Doutzen Kroes and Joan Smalls and actresses Chloe Moretz and Olivia Wilde. Here are the best dressed at the 2011 CFDA Fashion Fund.
