If you’ve been lucky enough to go to an Adele concert recently, you might have noticed that the confetti pouring over the crowd towards the end of the show is actually made up of tiny hand-written notes, bearing lyrics from her most-loved songs.

But since Monday night was the singer’s fifth anniversary with her partner Simon Konecki – the father of her three-year-old son, Angelo – he decided to surprise her with something different.
Konecki replaced the white song lyric confetti with tiny pink love notes he’d written to Adele, including messages such as “You are an angel”, “Happy Anniversary!!”, “Love you long time” and “I love you”.
No word on whether Konecki, the CEO of water charity Drop4Drop, actually sat down and wrote every confetti-note by hand – but we’re guessing that a photocopier might have been involved somewhere. (Not, of course, that that makes his gesture any less meaningful.)
At her concert in Nashville on Saturday, Adele said that she wants to start trying for a second baby with Konecki once she wraps up her world tour next month.
“My son is about to turn four very, very soon,” the 28-year-old singer reportedly told the crowd. “I’m starting to get very emotional about it because I feel like once they turn four, they’re not really your actual baby anymore.
“So my womb is starting to ache a little bit. It’s like, ‘Baby, baby, baby. Need a baby, need a baby’. I’m not pregnant. I won’t get pregnant until the end of the tour.”
Despite – or perhaps because of – the confessional nature of her lyrics, Adele was notoriously private about her personal life during the early stages of her career, frequently refusing to discuss her relationship with Konecki in the press. But over the course of the last year, she has occasionally opened up about their romance.
“Being in such an amazing relationship with someone that’s so there for me and so loyal and is really part of my core now, that’s what made me write about everything I’ve ever done, because I’ve got his love,” she told 60 Minutes in November 2015.
“I know that sounds a bit like I’m trying to write a Hollywood movie but it’s only because of him and our kids and stuff that I’m alright,” she said of Simon, who also has a daughter from his first marriage.
What’s that? No, we’re not crying. You’re crying.
