Singer and former Strictly Come Dancing judge Alesha Dixon is fronting a new campaign to combat domestic violence on International Women's Day.
The TV personality, who was recently named Empowerment Ambassador for Avon, is calling on women to wear the beauty brand's new Empowerment Necklace (pictured above), to raise awareness and support for the domestic violence cause.
One in four women in the UK experience domestic violence at some point in their lives and the government has recently slashed funding to this area by 31 percent.
"It’s an unacceptable reality that one in four women in the UK will experience violence in their lives - a reality we all must play our part to change," Alesha said. "That’s why, as we celebrate International Women’s Day, I’m so proud to be speaking out against domestic violence and supporting Avon’s Pass It On campaign.
"I’ll be wearing and sharing the new Avon Empowerment necklace to show my solidarity and support for women everywhere," she continued. "By passing it on you too can help raise life-saving awareness and vital money for domestic abuse support services. Together we can create a safer future for women and their families."
The Avon pendant costs £3.50, with all proceeds go towards Avon domestic violence partners, Refuge and Women’s Aid. It is available to purchase online here.
