At last, Kate Winslet admits Rose let Jack die in Titanic

Rose: [letting go of Jack's hand] I'll never let go, I promise.

It's probably the single-most infuriating and heartbreaking scene in film history - Leonardo Di Caprio's Jack is frozen to death in the icy Atlantic, even though we all know he could have fit next to Rose on the floating door from the shipwreck.

BOTH ROSE AND JACK COULD HAVE SURVIVED.

Now, Kate Winslet (who played Rose) has finally weighed in on the long-contested scene and confirmed that Jack didn't have to die.

When US chat show host Jimmy Kimmel told the star on Monday, "In a way you let him (Jack) freeze to death in the water", Winslet replied  “I know, I know. I agree. I think he could have actually fitted on that bit of door.”

“There was plenty of room on the raft,” added Kimmel.

The star, 40, also spoke about the lasting legacy of Titanic and the impact it has had on their relationship with DiCaprio, 41.

"People are always so excited to see Leo and I in the same space..and the end of the day it's so lovely, isn't it? It's been 20 years. It's really quite endearing and we do laugh about it," Winslet said.

"We were giggling about it last night. I was like, 'My god, can you actually believe it that people just get so...so overwhelmed by the Jack and Rose thing still today.'"

The British actress also offered some explanation to the below picture, where she was photographed touching Susan Sarandon’s breasts at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday.

“I’ll tell you what’s happening, I’m feeling Susan Sarandon’s tits,” Winslet told Kimmel. “See, shameless. I think I may have even felt Kristen Wiig’s butt as well at some point.”
