Baby news for Maggie Gyllenhaal

Maggie Gyllenhaal and her husband Peter Sarsgaard are expecting their second child together.

A spokesperson for the Crazy Heart star confirmed the news to People magazine, but added no further detail.

Maggie and Green Lantern actor Peter began dating in 2002 and married in Italy seven years later. They already have a daughter together, five-year-old Ramona.

"When Ramona [was first born], I didn't know what I was doing," Maggie, 34, previously said on the topic of parenthood. "There’s no way to prepare for the challenges, the immense joys, the surprises, the disappointments and the shocks. Your heart just rips open. It’s amazing."

The Oscar-nominated actress is due to appear in three movies over the next two years, including drama Learning to Fly, mystery thriller Voice from the Stone and crime movie The Iceman.

"She’s thrilled to be pregnant! She and Peter have wanted another child for a while," an unnamed "friend" told Life & Style. "They’re very happy that they’ll have another baby in the house soon."

The thespian, whose brother is actor Jake Gyllenhaal, is said to be around six months pregnant.
