Bar Rafaeli and her husband, Adi Ezra, have welcomed a baby girl into the world.
The 31-year-old supermodel gave birth to her first child at Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv, Israel, reports The Jerusalem Post.
Looking to the ever-fashionable world of Scandinavian culture for inspiration, Rafaeli has opted for the Norwegian name Liv.
The name is derived from the Old Norse word ‘hlif’, which means ‘shelter’ or ‘protection’.
Nameberry claims that Liv has been rising in popularity over the past year, explaining: “Liv combines the succinct charm of a nickname – people might assume it's short for Olivia – with the solidity of being a classic stand-alone Scandinavian name with a life-force meaning.”

Rafaeli announced her pregnancy on New Year’s Eve, sharing a Flipagram video montage of photos from her September 2015 wedding with Ezra.
She captioned it: “2015 was like… #weddingbells”
The supermodel then shared an Instagram snapshot of a positive pregnancy test, adding emojis of a smiling baby and bottle of milk, teasing, “2016 is going to be like…”
Rafaeli has previously spoken about her desire to become a mother, explaining to Hello! Fashion Monthly that she hoped that the next chapter of her life would be focused on starting a family.
“I think this will be a decade of family […] I come from a family of four children,” she told the magazine.
“A lot of [mums] could read this and think, ‘Yeah, try having one first.’ Hopefully, I’ll have a big family, but I’ll take it one by one.”
