Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds welcome first child

Blake Lively has given birth to her first child with her actor husband Ryan Reynolds.

Neither the baby's sex or name have been revealed as of yet but according to PageSix, who first reported the news, the actress gave birth over the holidays, just before the New Year at the couple's home in Bedford, New York.

While Blake, 27, gave birth earlier than was expected it is reported that both mother and child are doing well.

The Gossip Girl star first revealed that she was pregnant on her website Preserve, a lifestyle and e-commerce site, back in October

Blake seemed to hint at her impending motherhood when she spoke to Vogue about her husband Ryan, 38, in July: “He’s going to be a great father and leader and patriarch—he’s so meant to be all of those things.”

On her dreams to have a big family, Blake told Us Weekly that it was something she'd always dreamed of: “It’s something that I’ve always wanted ever since I was a little girl. I never knew what I wanted to do for a living but I knew I wanted to have a lot of kids because I had come from a big family, so it was always important to me. So it’s just the excitement of that finally being here.”

The couple got married in a low-key ceremony at the Boone Hall Plantation (from The Notebook, fact fans) in December 2012,  with just 35 guests in attendance. The bride wore a Marchesa gown and the groom wore a Burberry suit. Blake's close friend Florence Welch serenaded the newly weds.
