'Brad thinks the girls can do no wrong. He's mush in their hands' Angelina on her children's tattoo requests and Brad's parenting

Brad Pitt doesn't want any of his giant brood getting tattoos - but he's a bit of a softie when it comes to laying down the rules as a dad, Angelina Jolie has revealed.

Angelina, 39, is a big fan of tattoos and has amassed around 17 inkings, including Arabic script on her right forearm, the geographical coordinates of her children's birthplaces on her left shoulder and a Buddhist incantation for her eldest son Maddox on her back.

Brad also has close to a dozen tattoos over his body. But he's not so keen now their kids have started taking an interest in body art too.

The couple have six children together; Vivienne and Knox, both six, Shiloh, eight, and their adopted siblings Zahara, nine, Pax, 11, and Maddox, 13.

"They're already asking me about tattoos," Jolie tells the Radio Timesin an interview out today. "How do I say 'No'? It's especially hard for dads and girls. For some reason men get a little more sensitive when the daughter gets a tattoo."

Ange went onto reveal that her husband is a walkover as dad, especially when it comes to their girls. "Brad thinks the girls can do no wrong. He's mush in their hands!" she said.

Angelina said she and Brad had already turned down Maddox' request for a tattoo, but now Zahara was getting curious about having one done too.

She also said that if any of their children took an interest in acting as a career, they would encourage them to do something else as well.

"We've always said, if they want to act, we won't let them only act, because it's not enough," she said. "They'll have to find a real job at the same time. But I'm hoping that when they see all the other things in the world, they'll be inspired to be writers, politicians, activists.

"They're very individual people. So I imagine they're not going to follow their mum and dad."

Ange and Brad got married in August

Ange and Brad finally decided to tie the knot in August this year, following pressure from their kids.

The couple, who have been together nine years, said "I Do" in a ceremony at their castle home, Château Miraval, in France. Ange wore a custom-made gown by Atelier Versace, with illustrations by her children embroidered onto the silk veil.

The couple were keen to involve their children as much as possible in the ceremony. Maddox and Pax walked their mother down the aisle, both wearing black suits. Zahara wore a dress designed by Adama Kebe and Vivienne wore a white dress in their role as flower girls tossing petals in the pathway of the bride.

Vivienne’s twin Knox, who wore a suit, and Shiloh, eight, who wore black dress shorts, shoes, white shirt and a black tie and top hat, were the ring bearers.

Ange is currently involved in promoting her biopic film Unbroken, her second effort in the director's seat. Her next project is By the Sea, in which she will direct and star opposite her husband. It will mark the first time the pair have acted on screen together since 2005's Mr and Mrs Smith.

"It feels a little daunting,"  she tells the Radio Times. "We haven't worked together for ten years. But all of the reasons why people say we should be scared of it, we feel that's exactly why we have to do this – because we can. So we're going to go boldly.

"He's a pretty strong actor! It's going to be interesting. He's a really great artist, such an interesting artist, and of course he's the man I love, so I think we're going to have a great time."
