Cara Delevingne sparks Audrey Hepburn comparisons with acting debut

British model Cara Delevingne is to make her acting debut in Sky Arts' upcoming drama Timeless and co-star, long-time Britsh actress Sylvia Syms, has compared her to icon Audrey Hepburn.

Syms, 80, said "I worked years ago with a beautiful girl who became very famous," in an interview with the Evening Standard. "This child [Delevingne] here has the same quality which is known as not acting for the camera."

"She is real and an absolute joy to work with," continued Syms. "I was told I was going to work with a model and I had never heard of her but I literally fell in love with her on the first day. The other girl I loved was Audrey Hepburn."

In the a one-off, 30-minute drama which is part of Sky Arts' Playhouse Presents season, Delevingne, 21, plays Chloe, a young woman who is reluctantly looking after her great-grandmother Alice (Syms).

Chloe's fiancé is a soldier serving a term of duty in Afghanistan, and the anxiety of having her loved one at war brings her much closer to her great-grandmother, who endured a similar fate during World War II.

The model wrote about working with Syms on her Instagram account last month, saying "Thank you skyarts and everyone involved in making Timeless. I am so lucky to have worked with this woman and be able to call her my friend, she has taught me so much! #SylviaSyms #legend #thankyou" (image above).
