Take a peek inside Lena Dunham's bright and airy new LA home

Lena Dunham has bought a new home in Los Angeles and it's everything we imagined it with be, with French doors, antique furniture and built-in bookshelves throughout.

The Girls star told Vogue late last year that she much preferred her home town New York over the Californian city because it's “ultimately not the right place for me”.

“I like Los Angeles, but more than two weeks and I start to get a very sad feeling,” Lena said.

But it seems the delightful three-bedroom abode off the Sunset Strip has changed her mind.

Built in 1919, it's full of history and character and in fact was once occupied Audrey Hepburn's Breakfast at Tiffany’s co-star George Peppard.

The West Hollywood home, which was listed for $2.7 million (£1.76 million) also boasts a saltwater pool, guest house and open-plan living area.

Lena owns two other homes, both in Brooklyn Heights: a one-bedroom apartment she bought in 2012 and a four-bedroom condo she and boyfriend Jack Antonoff moved into in December 2014.

Shall we take a tour of her latest purchase?

The space is predominantly white and packed with paintings, wooden furniture, leather chairs and rugs for character.

There's a traditional wood-burning fireplace, with exposed-brick and a decorative rug to complement the cosy ambience of the room.

The living space leads into a dining area which has been tranformed into a library room, with stacks of books piled high on the table and others stacked creatively on the shelf behind.

White cabinets, marble worktops and large windows make the kitchen a vibrant space while the open shelves filled with cookbooks and quirky colourful bowls add character.

The loft bedroom is more minimalist with a few pieces of statement furniture.

While it's unclear if Lena Dunham will get to keep the original interiors, we're keeping our fingers crossed she can.
