Chrissy Teigen takes down Fox News on Twitter: “I detest you”

Chrissy Teigen has zero patience when it comes to trolls – so it makes absolutely perfect sense that the 31-year-old has decided to take on conservative TV network Fox News.

Like countless others, Teigen had been left feeling extremely frustrated when she learned that United Airlines had hassled a reportedly 10-year-old girl for wearing leggings while attempting to board a flight.

She tweeted: “I have flown United before with literally no pants on. Just a top as a dress.

“Next time I will wear only jeans and a scarf.”

Fox News – famed for their right-leaning tendencies – wasted no time in creating a graphic to illustrate Teigen’s tweet, emblazoning it across a photograph of her on the red carpet.

“Chrissy Teigen speaks out against United for banning girls from boarding their flight because they wore leggings,” they wrote, tagging the model in the post.

Teigen was, somewhat unsurprisingly, extremely unimpressed by Fox’s actions.

Addressing them directly on Twitter, the mother-of-one wrote: “I respectfully ask you please don’t ever tag me in anything, ever.

“Words cannot express how much I detest you.”

Plenty of fans rushed to applaud Teigen for her blunt and to-the-point response.

“Awesome,” wrote one.

Another added: “[Best] tweet of the day. Possibly [best] tweet of the week.”

However there were, of course, a handful of people who weren’t at all happy with Teigen’s comments. And it wasn’t long before trolls were flooding her news feed with hate-fuelled comments.

“Oh no,” wrote one mockingly. “The airline has rules and they are following through with them. How dare they? You’re a cry baby.”

Another tweeted: “Oh get a grip, Chrissy. You detest the truth? How many immigrants live in your houses? How many do you support?”

The most bizarre of all, however, read: “Back attach boobs hangin out no class teigen [sic].”

Unperturbed, albeit a little bemused by the comment, Teigen happily decided to use it as her new header photo on Twitter.

That’s definitely one way to rise above the haters.
