Cold Specks: video premiere

Watch the video premiere for When The City Lights Dim, the new single from Canadian singer-songwriter Cold Specks - aka Al Spx.

The track fuses blues, indie, soul and gospel influences for a rich, intense sound that has attracted rave reviews from critics.

"I work really hard on my songs; we spent a year and a half working on arrangements and structures," the 23-year-old said last year, of her debut album I Predict a Graceful Expulsion. "I hope people don't just put me in a group with Adele and Amy Winehouse."

Take a look at her new video single below and let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

Want a chance to see Cold Specks sing live? We've got three pairs of tickets to give away to the Cold Specks Women of the World (WOW) show at London's Southbank Centre on 7 March.
