Cruz Beckham releases his debut Christmas single

It’s official: Cruz Beckham has entered the running for this year’s Christmas no. 1.

Victoria and David Beckham’s 11-year-old son has, after teaming up with Justin Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun, kicked off his music career with a very festive debut single.

Called If Every Day Was Christmas, the three-minute track premiered on the Capital Breakfast Show, featuring such lyrics as: “If everyday was Christmas and I can't be with you, underneath the mistletoe, kiss you when nobody knows.”

Listen to the Christmassy tune below:

It has been confirmed that all proceeds from the single’s sale are going to Global's Make Some Noise charity, with Cruz telling Capital FM host Dave Berry: “It's two of my favourite things – singing and Christmas!”

And it seems as if his tune might just be one of social media’s favourite things, too, as it has gone down an absolute storm with fans on Twitter.

“Kid sounds like a young Michael Jackson. Was actually really good,” commented one.

Another added: “Cruz Beckham with a lovely Christmas song – go on lad!”

Meanwhile, a third continued: “@CruzBeckham this is my new fav song for the best Christmas ever.”

Unsurprisingly, Cruz’s 41-year-old father, David, has also spoken out in praise of his son’s new career.

Sharing a photo of Cruz smiling up at the camera, Beckham wrote on Instagram: “So proud of my little man @CruzBeckham! Hear his first single #IfEveryDayWasChristmas on @CapitalOfficial at 7.30am.”

And fashion designer Victoria also took to Twitter to say that she is “so proud” of her son.

She wrote: “Love a choir at Christmas!! So proud of @CruzBeckhamThank u @RodneyJerkins X VB [sic]”

However not everyone was a fan of Cruz’s new track; Piers Morgan launched an attack on the 11-year-old and the entire Beckham family in a series of tweets, asking, “Why don’t you just go to school, mate?” and claiming the “fame-hungry” couple were “exploiting their brand” through their son.

Scooter Braun has spoken out in defense of his young protégé, saying: “He [Cruz] is an 11 year old who wanted to make a song to help other kids.

“Once again Piers shows why he is a jackass and why his show was cancelled. Some people in this world make a living out of finding the worst in every situation.

“It means they have a career. Not class. Just a career.”
