David Beckham and Tom Cruise hang out together in London pub

If you happened to be in Notting Hill on Monday evening, you might have chanced across Tom Cruise and David Beckham getting the beers in.

The A-list pals were snapped just doing something quintessentially British and hanging out having drinks at a pub in the trendy west London neighbourhood.

Goldenballs and cinema's finest turned their backs on the many expensive London restaurants that would have welcomed them with open arms (and shock horror, Chiltern Firehouse) when they met up for a drink on Monday at Irish pub The Cow.

A fellow drinker snapped a sneaky picture of the pair which she posted on Instagram along with the caption: "#wtf #justnexttous #chilling "

Tom, 51, and David, 39, shared a bottle of wine, while the retired soccer star was also seen nursing a pint of Guinness.

Good to see he still has plenty of classic British habits lining his drinks up.

Dressed down in jeans and t-shirts, onlookers reported the pair as being in high spirits for their drinking session.

The stars have been friends since 2003 and grew close when David moved to LA to play football for LA Galaxy back in 2007.

David and Tom used to hold regular movie nights, so cosy pub shindigs are the next natural step.

"When we were living in LA, Tom Cruise lived two minutes away," Becks has said of their friendship. "He's a good friend. There were occasions when I'd call him up and ask him if he had a new movie that wasn't out yet, and I'd go round and watch it with him."

Invite us next time, yeah?
