You need to watch President Donald Trump getting “snubbed” by Poland’s First Lady

There’s no denying that President Donald Trump has form when it comes to being expertly brushed aside by First Ladies.

Remember when Melania snubbed her husband’s directions at a pre-inauguration event? Or the video that sparked a thousand #FreeMelania memes? Or that social media slip-up when the FLOTUS liked a tweet which implied that she absolutely hated her husband? Or, y’know, either of the two times she slapped his hand away from hers in front of the world’s press?

Well, many people strongly suspect that Agata Kornhauser-Duda, wife of President Andrzej Duda of Poland, doesn’t just remember these moments: she’s positively inspired by them. Because, during Trump’s recent visit to Poland, Kornhauser-Duda left the US president hanging when he went in for a handshake.

Trump moved in to shake President Duda’s hand without incident. But, as he reached out to grasp hold of Kornhauser-Duda, she seemingly walked by him with nary a glance in his direction.

And, as Trump’s (allegedly tiny) hand hung in the air, Kornhauser-Duda warmly greeted Melania instead.

Check it out:

Of course, the internet had a lot to say about the clip.

Some felt inspired.

Some were in hysterics, claiming to be “laughing so hard” at the bewildered expression on Trump’s face.

A few people weren’t at all happy with Kornhauser-Duda’s “insulting” behaviour, and insisted that she be “called to order” (whatever that means).

And some insisted that the clip had been taken out of context and that it wasn’t funny at all: it’s just an example of political “etiquette”, apparently.

Of course, there’s no concrete evidence to suggest that Kornhauser-Duda ignored Trump on purpose

After all, she eventually shook his hand afterwards.

There is one woman whom Trump has successfully managed to hold hands with, and that’s our own Prime Minister, Theresa May.

The pair were famously filmed walking hand-in-hand down a ramp at the White House in January, lending a whole new meaning to that “special relationship” between the UK and USA.

When asked to explain the incident, May laughingly insisted that there was an incredibly innocent explanation for the whole thing.

“I think he was actually being a gentleman,” she said, causing a spate of eye rolls across the world.

“We were about to walk down a ramp, and he said it might be a bit awkward.”

Well, he certainly wasn’t wrong about that, was he?
