The Duchess of Cambridge was once again the centre of attraction when she arrived with her husband Prince William to host a charity dinner event at St James' Palace last night .

In ode to spring summer 2012, where one of the key trends is the exposed shoulder, Kate wore a full length silvery- grey silk one shoulder gown by Jenny Packham. Gathered at the waist with the requisite poppy cleverly positioned, her outfit once again drew gasps of admiration from onloookers.

The couple were holding the dinner - for 120 guests - in aid of the National Memorial Arboretum Appeal, of which the Duke of Cambridge is patron.

They hope to raise £12 million to turn the Arboretum in Staffordshire, which honours those that have sacrificed their lives for their country, into a world-renowned centre for Remembrance Day.
