Ed Sheeran’s full Carpool Karaoke has landed (and you need to see the Malteser challenge)

Fan or not, there’s no escaping Ed Sheeran. The singer continues to rack up the number ones, break records and win awards.

Now hardcore lovers of the Ed can add watching him touch up James Corden, tell how he nearly ruined Justin Bieber’s face and stuff a frankly unbelievable amount of Maltesers into his mouth to their Sheeran scrapbooks, courtesy of Carpool Karaoke.

After last week’s teaser trailer, the full version of The Late, Late Show slot (which you can watch in full below) has dropped, and the 26-year-old has plenty to chat about with Corden.

Between duets on songs such as Shape of You, Sing and Thinking Out Loud (with impressive harmonies, we must add), the pair chat about Sheeran’s ‘year off’ and the singer tells Corden, 38, how he recently smacked fellow superstar Bieber in the face with a golf club.

“What I enjoy most is bringing people that don’t drink in dive bars and skanky pubs to said dive bar or skanky pub”, he tells the host, revealing he’d taken Bieber to a “really, really filthy dive bar” in Tokyo, resulting in a dodgy incident on a golf course.

Elsewhere in the clip, they discuss the fact Sheeran no longer has a phone, preferring contact by email only because it turns out it’s not all fun and games being a wildly successful pop star with a bank account busting at the seams.

“I'd wake up every morning and there'd be like 50 messages, and none of them would say ‘Hey how are you?’” he tells Corden.

“It’d be like ‘Can I have this, can you lend me this, can you do this, can I get this?’ And it was fine at the beginning and it just got really, really draining by the end of it. So getting rid of that, going traveling, getting perspective […] everything’s great.”

It's kind of admirable

But a highlight for fans of both Sheeran and chocolate-based snacks must be the Malteser challenge – after he confirms the rumour he can fit 47 in his mouth at once, he goes on to break that record with a ridiculous 55.

The Late, Late Show with James Corden featuring Ed Sheeran on Carpool Karaoke will be on UK screens 10pm tonight (7 June) on Sky 1.
