Watch the magical new trailer for Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling’s latest film

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling have been one of our all-time favourite Hollywood pairings ever since we watched Crazy Stupid Love for the first time. (And the second time, and then the third, fourth and fifth– look, it’s a great movie, OK?) Like a 21st century Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy, they just work as an on-screen duo. She’s so cool and funny and charming; he’s Ryan Gosling. It’s a match made in heaven.

So we were beside ourselves with delight earlier this year when we heard that Stone and Gosling are set to reunite in a new movie. In “romantic musical comedy-drama” La La Land, Stone plays Mia, an aspiring actress struggling to make ends meet by working in a Los Angeles coffee shop. When she meets jazz musician Sebastian (Gosling), the two quickly fall in love – but of course, stories in Hollywood are never so simple.

The new trailer reveals some of the magical dance sequences we can expect from La La Land.

The latest trailer shines a light on the movie’s magical cinematography, dreamy dance sequences and stunning set design – and on Stone’s singing voice. A song performed by the actress serves as the soundtrack for the clip, and her pipes are surprisingly sweet for someone known for her husky speaking voice.

La La Land is written and directed by Whiplash director Damien La Chazelle, and also stars John Legend (who makes a cameo appearance in this trailer). The film is already being tipped for awards season nominations upon its release in December – but in the meantime, you can drink in the latest teaser below.
