Watch: Emma Watson stops a reporter mid-interview to help a sister out

emma watson.JPG

Emma Watson has made a name for herself as an intelligent and compassionate actor, striving to better the lives of women all over the world as UN Goodwill Ambassador for Women. And, in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, she’s given classic character Belle a seriously feminist makeover – complete with a career of her own, and a desire to help lift up her fellow townswomen to something better.

So perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised that when confronted by an opportunity to showcase some sisterhood solidarity, however small, Watson chose to do exactly that.

The 26-year-old was appearing on Spanish film show Pool Fiction along with Beauty and the Beast co-star Dan Stevens when noticed that Clara, the journalist interviewing them, had an inky smudge on her chin.

“I'm so sorry, can I stop you?” interjected an apologetic Watson. “I'm so sorry. You would do this for me, I would do this for you… you've got pen on your chin, and you're going to be so sad when you see this.”

"You would do this for me, I would do this for you"

"You would do this for me, I would do this for you"

Standing up, Watson leaned over to wipe away the offending inky mark – and then called over her own make-up artist and offering Clara a dash of concealer.

“I have to do this for you. I know what it's like to have something on your face,” she said, clearly speaking from experience.

“I’m red right now, yes?” asked Clara. “This is the best moment of my trip, I have to say.”

Stevens, who was watching the scene unfurl with amusement, quipped: “The day Emma Watson did my make-up.”

It was something of a timely incident, as Katy Perry recently took to Instagram to berate her friends for letting her walk the red carpet with food in her teeth.

Sharing a zoomed-in photo of her smile, Perry wrote: “Currently taking applications for real friends who aren’t afraid to tell me there’s quinoa in my teeth.”

To be honest, if she hadn’t pointed it out herself, we definitely wouldn’t have noticed… Ahem.
