Eva Longoria denies dating rumour

Eva Longoria has shot down gossip that she is dating LA Lakers star Matt Barnes.

The Desperate Housewives actress took to Twitter to deny rumours of a romance, after the pair were spotted sharing a meal with friends in New York last week.

"First Jessica Simpson, now this," the 36-year-old wrote, referring to (now confirmed) gossip that Jessica is pregnant. "Matt Barnes and I are not dating. We are doing a charity event together for Padres and Athletes vs. Cancer."

A rep for the star also said that she and Matt (pictures above, second photo) were "just friends."

Eva has also been linked recently to Eduardo Cruz, the younger brother of Penelope Cruz. She has signed onto a number of new movies following the axing of Desperate Housewives, including thriller The Truth, co-starring Andy Garcia and Forest Whitaker.

Eva is slated to swap her role as sultry housewife Gabrielle Solis for that of a "corporate whistleblower" in the upcoming movie.
