Eva Mendes' favourite things

eva-hero.jpg

Following on from her interview with Stylist magazine this week (and ahead of her new film Last Night hitting cinemas on 3 June), Hollywood star Eva Mendes reveals the book, box set and holiday destination that top her all-time favourites list...

Eva's favourite book

"The Fountainhead. It’s about an architect who won’t conform to society and what people deem is right. He blows up this old building because he doesn’t want to succumb to the bullshit of it all. It’s amazing and it’s my favourite but at the moment I’m reading Patti Smith’s autobiography, Just Kids."

The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, £9.99, amazon.co.uk

Eva's favourite holiday destination

"The Amalfi Coast, Italy. I don’t have a place there but Italian people make the best friends. They really look after you, you just have to know a few and you have the best holiday! I go almost every year and I love the Mediterranean - it’s so beautiful."

Eva's favourite box set

"I’m just about to watch Downton Abbey – the Americans seem to be loving it just as much as the Brits! Julian Fellowes is writing the script for a film that I’m producing in and starring in, about Maria Callas, so I’ve just bought it. Other than that, I love Mad Men. It’s so nuanced and so subtle it’s genius - it’s like a mini movie every time."

Downton Abbey, Series 1, £8.99, amazon.co.uk

Mad Men, Series 1-3, £43.99, amazon.co.uk

Eva's favourite failsafe outfit

"A Vince white t-shirt tucked into Tibi linen trousers and Prada camel platform slingbacks."

Eva's favourite beauty product

"Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation. It’s a moisturiser with Spf and sheer coverage, just one essential product. I’m not big on make-up, I can’t do fake eyelashes or fake hair so base is it. I’m really lucky to have big hair actually – my father is so hairy he’s like a bear."

Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation, £45, perriconemd.co.uk
