Eva Mendes "I have no right to give other mothers advice"

Eva Mendes is so happy about motherhood that she says she's even enamoured with the parts of it most may not find quite so desirable - revealing in a recent interview: "I'm actually enjoying the sleepless nights because it's bonding with my little girl."

However the actress, whose baby daughter Esmeralda Amada, with partner Ryan Gosling, was born in September, says while she's loving being a parent, she doesn't feel qualified to offer others advice.

Appearing in the April issue of Women's Health magazine, Eva said, "I don't feel like I've really earned the right [to give advice]. I want to respect all the moms out there. They're going to be like, 'You know what? You're a few months in. Just shut up.'"

The 41-year-old has previously spoken of handling motherhood without paid help, but admitted she goes online to ease her mind. "I’m doing it without a nanny for now... part of being a mother at this early stage is the struggle of not being able to sleep and not knowing what I’m doing and really going through it with her and battling out those nights."

She added: "I do go to babycenter.com and read the comment sections from other mothers because I find so much solace in that. Just knowing that I’m not alone out there and that other moms have gone through the same thing can at least get me through the night."

Eva, who met Ryan, 34, on the set of the film The Place Beyond The Pines in 2011, also discussed in the interview how much she appreciates the support of her family.

“I’ve had the same girlfriends since I was 12, and I’ve made amazing girlfriends since,” she explained. “My mom and my two older sisters have always been there telling me I could accomplish anything. We have each other’s backs in the best way.”

Eva and Ryan are notoriously private about their relationship, and the actress shared that her friends and family have had a taste of the lack of control she feels being in the public eye via social media.

"My sisters and my good friends are experiencing that now [with] Facebook and Instagram. When they freak out about a friend of theirs posting a bad picture of them, I'm like, 'Well, imagine how I feel! Get used to it!'"
