The actress discusses her new film Shame

The darling du jour of British cinema, Carey Mulligan, speaks to Stylist about her new movie Shame, a gritty psychological thriller that casts a spotlight on sex addiction.

Carey plays Sissy, the outspoken and bohemian sister of Michael Fassbender in the movie, in a role that sees her tackle her first nude scene and sing a solo rendition of New York, New York. She tells us what it was like working with director Steve McQueen, how she felt "like shooting myself" after being told to improvise her own song and her experience of going full frontal in the movie. Watch the interview in full, above.

Shame is out in cinemas from 13 January.
