Doctor Who star Karen Gillan is making her big screen debut this summer in British rom com Not Another Happy Ending.

The Glasgow-based indie romance sees Karen play Jane Lockhart, a best-selling author suffering from writer's block. Her swarthy publisher, played by French actor Stanley Weber, is tasked with trying to make her write again - but ends up falling in love with her in the process.

The film co-stars Game of Thrones' Kate Dickie and Skins actress Freya Mavor.

"Playing the role really gave me the chance to immerse myself in the rom-com genre, and before I played Jane, I watched in chronological order the greatest rom-coms of all time," Karen said.

Take a look at the just-released trailer, below, and let us know your thoughts in the comments or on Twitter.

Not Another Happy Ending is out on 30 June
