If you've ever had the pain and awkwardness of breaking up with someone in a Wetherspoons as all your friends watch through a window, then you you'll understand why we enjoy this video from The Tonight Show.

Every week the US comedy chat show, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, asks viewers to share their stories on Twitter, using a particular hashtag. This week it was #awkwardbreakups.

While some partings can be very painful at the time, it's easy to look back and smile/guffaw over the embarrassing and strange things people do when they need to have that talk.

#Awkwardbreakups proved that many of us have similarly hilarious stories, and we couldn't resist sharing some of the funniest.

Below are just some of the more embarrassing situations after a couple has decided to part ways. We're sure some of them even bring back painful/funny memories and you can also watch the whole video below.

Have you ever had an awkward break up? If so, we'd love you to tell us about it. Tweet us @stylistmagazine with the hashtag #awkwardbreakups...
