Hillary's sexism strategy

As a high-profile woman in US politics, Hillary Clinton is subject to unfair levels of scrutiny.

It's difficult to imagine Investors Daily bringing Barack Obama's "tired old face" into a serious debate on leadership, but that's exactly how a blogger on the site recently described Clinton in an attempt to diminish her Presidential bid.

Clinton's looks were also the focus of another bashing earlier this month, when Ed Klein, a former New York Times magazine editor, suggested her weight may hamper her ability to win the 2016 election.

"I don't want to sound anti-feminist here" Klein stressed. Then came the "but"...

"But she's not looking good these days. She's looking overweight, and she's looking very tired."

Clinton's response to gratuitous comments about her appearance? She takes it all in her stride, she told a 5,000-strong audience in Toronto this week.

"My attitude is different than it was 20 years ago. I don’t care. I learned to take criticism seriously but not personally."

Which pretty much sums up what we like about the former US Secretary of State.
