Actor Brad Pitt has proudly revealed how well behaved his kids were upon their recent meeting with the Queen.

The star confirmed that the family were given the chance to meet the monarch after his wife Angelina Jolie accepted honorary damehood award earlier this month.

“That was a lovely day for our whole family. We were offered the opportunity to bring the kids in to meet the Queen afterwards, and I have to say I have never seen them so still and respectful in my whole life,”  revealed the 50-year-old actor.

“To see them bowing and curtseying and saying 'Your Majesty' was an absolute delight,” the star said of his six children, Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 6.

In the interview with Hello! magazine, Brad also talked about his delight that his children were experiencing travel and how it's providing a great education for his offspring.

“Travel is the best education there is. I had never been on a plane till I was 24 or 25, so when I started to travel abroad, whether it was to Netherlands or Tokyo or Belgium, it was all such an experience.”

Brad went on to reveal the “grueling” conditions on the set of his latest film, By The Sea, which was written and directed by Angelina.

On the subject of filming he revealed that she even made him learn another language.

“My writer/director is tough as nails, as you know. I think my French is pretty good, so my writer/director put a lot of the language into the script and we'll see how I do.”

However, the couple are thought to be going head-to-head in the upcoming awards season, with the possibility that Angelina's Unbroken which she directed and produced, set to be released this month, will compete with Brad's movie, Fury at the Oscars.

But Brad is very sweet about the whole affair:

“I am immensely proud of Angie, she's made an incredible movie, which is a big story about the triumph of the human spirit - we're certainly not pitted against each other and I hope Unbroken gets all the recognition it deserves.”
