#IAmTheDoctorWho: junior doctors unite on social media to show how they help NHS patients

doctor.JPG

As of this morning, junior doctors across the UK are striking for 24 hours as part of their ongoing dispute with the government regarding their new contracts.

The strike is their second in five months as they aim to change the shape of the new contracts, which could reduce the premium pay they currently receive for working on Saturdays.

As well as striking, the doctors have been taking to social media to share images of themselves holding placards and pieces of paper that describe their jobs. The movement is currently trending, with the hashtag #IAmTheDoctorWho starting each declaration.

The social media storm follows in the footsteps of Junior Doctors' hilarious tweets during their first strike last month, when they hit back at claims they are living the life of a "Moet medic".

From a psychiatry junior doctor who "picks you up when you are feeling down" to the palliative care junior doctor who "cares for your loved ones every day in the final hours of their lives" to the doctor "who resuscitated your father", see images of some of the campaigners- and their messages - below.
