We all know how frustrating it is when you're about to make a cake, or your favourite dish, and you realise one of the key ingredients has run out and you forgot to put it on the shopping list.

Luckily, there's an infographic which can help with that.

Repair service provider eReplacementParts.com (well known for baking, apparently) has collaborated with content marketing agency Ghergich & Co. (also well known for their cooking skills?) to bring you the ultimate guide to ingredient replacements.

For example, if you don't have baking powder, you can make your own with cream of tartar and baking soda.

Another great tip is if you don't have bread crumbs, rolled oats or crushed cereal will do, which is actually useful to know.

The most interesting swap is if you don't have any eggs, which offers eight alternatives, including potato starch and prunes.

Essentially, from now on you no longer need to worry about having all the ingredients in your cupboard, as there are always alternatives.

Click to enlarge the image below and see what other substitutions you can make.
