Inside Madonna's 1920s-themed birthday bash

Madonna celebrated her 56th birthday this weekend with a lavish 1920s-inspired party in the heart of Cannes attended by Kate Moss, Givenchy's creative director Richardo Tisci, the star's family and close friends.

Set in the grand 1900s French mansion, Villa Saint Georges, guests dressed up in vintage fare where Madge opted for a heavily-embellished black flapper dress and a beaded head-band to match her retro up-do.

The star's children also took part in the fancy dress with daughter Mercy, 8, wearing a beaded playsuit, son David Banda, 8,wearing a top hat and tuxedo and Rocco Ritchie,14, wearing a white tux suit with his hair swept back.

Madge's music industry colleagues also joined the bash, including manager Guy Oseary and choreographer Loic Mabanza, sharing snaps of the celebrations throughout the night.

Guests posed next to a giant M-shaped sign and what looked like a photo booth in the grand venue. After the night Madonna also shared a number of pictures from the night on Instagram, labelling the event as the "Best Night Ever" alongside the hashtag #unapologeticbirthdaybitch.
