Jennifer Garner: 'After having three children, I will always have a baby bump'

Jennifer Garner has hit out at the Hollywood expectations that if a woman does not have a completely flat stomach it is assumed she is pregnant.

Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres on the Ellen show, the actress, 42, explained: "I get congratulated all the time by people that I know saying that I'm pregnant. So I asked around, and apparently I have a baby bump."

Playing on this idea, she confirmed to the audience that she does have a baby bump. But she is not pregnant.

"I am not pregnant, but I've had three kids and there is a bump. From now on ladies, I will have a bump and it will be my 'baby bump'. Let's just all settle in and get used to it - it's not going anywhere."

"I have a bump, its name is Violet, Sam, Sara... I see you guys are really eager for us to pop out another one - gosh, you're exhausting!"

Ellen added "It's crazy that people are looking for something that isn't there." Jennifer agreed, "there won't be another baby, just a bump."

Jennifer also joked about her husband Ben Affleck's full-frontal scene in Gone Girl, saying "He's showing his penis. I think you're probably onto something [that it might be helping the film's box office ratings]. What I have to say is, 'You're welcome.' I just try to consider myself a charitable person and I wanted to give back. You give me so much, I wanted to give something back to all of you."

On whether she had any sort of concerns about the nude scene, Jennifer confirmed "It wasn't a discussion. It was like, 'Hey, at work today Fincher talked me into coming out of the shower.' And I was like, 'Oh, cool, well, I hope he had on a wide lens.'"

Jennifer and Ben have been married since 2005, and the busy couple are mutually supportive of one another's careers. Affleck is currently appearing in Gone Girl and starting filming for the new Batman film, while Jennifer is promoting her new film Men, Women and Children as well as an adaptation of the US children's book Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible No Good, Very Bad Day. She told Elle magazine this month that "My husband is always saying to me, 'You have to work, you have to work. This is part of who you are.'"
