Jennifer Lawrence has the best response to a leaked video of her pole dancing

Jennifer Lawrence has long been a woman after our own hearts.

From laughing off a tumble at the Oscars to criticising Hollywood’s unrealistic beauty standards and opening up about her battle with anxiety, she has well and truly earned her spot in our list of Actresses We Would Most Like to Have A Drink With.

And now the 26-year-old has won us over yet again with her brilliantly frank reaction to leaked footage that shows her pole dancing in a nightclub with friends.

The blurry video, which shows Lawrence drunkenly dancing on a pole in a bar in Vienna, was shared on a US gossip website yesterday alongside an article that slammed the actress for her “scandalous dancing” which made her look "like a low-rent gogo dancer in a Euro-trash strip club”, USA Today reports.

Of course, Lawrence didn’t take the criticism lying down.

Taking to her official Facebook fan page (below), Lawrence wrote, “I'm not going to apologise, I had a BLAST that night.”

She also took a swipe at the people who filmed the video, writing, “Nobody wants to be reminded that they tried to dance on a stripper pole by the internet. It was one of my best friend's birthdays and I dropped my paranoia guard for one second to have fun.”

The (rightly) defiant post quickly went viral, with over 135,000 likes and some 4,000 comments (at the time of writing) from fans applauding Lawrence for her stance.

“You have nothing to apologise for,” wrote one user, with another adding, “Dance girl dance!! Enjoy life and do exactly what you want to do.”

At the end of the post, Lawrence also addressed a comment in the original article that stated she was wearing just a bra while dancing on the pole.

“Ps that's not a bra it's an Alexander Wang top and I'm not gonna lie, I think my dancings pretty good,” she wrote. “Even with no core strength.”
