2012 is being touted as the year for Jess Mills, the rising star of British music who went to school with Ms Dynamite.

After a decade of performing in gigs across the country - supported by her mother, Labour MP Tessa Jowell - the singer-songwriter is making waves as a solo artist and is set to release her debut album early next year under Island Records, the label that represents Florence and the Machine and Jessie J.

In this video, created exclusively for Stylist, Jess performs her single For My Sins in a live studio session.

The ethereal pop track, brought to life with gutsy, distinct vocals, is the result of Jess' collaboration with The Flight, a production duo who have previously worked with Lana Del Rey, Bjork and Elbow.

Take a listen to the song and let us know your thoughts on Twitter or in the comments section below.
