Kate Middleton's baby shower

The Queen's wearing one of her trademark lavender suits and Pippa Middleton is handing out fruit punch, as a corgi loiters hopefully to one side...

We don't know whether the Duchess of Cambridge is planning to have a baby shower, but if she does, we'd love it to be like this.

Surrounded by the upper echelons of the royal family, plus her mum Carole and her sister Pippa, Kate looks as happy and radiant as any mum-to-be would at such an occasion (especially one expecting the heir to the British throne).

She's even clutching a frankly genius babygro embossed with the words "Born To Rule", in the photos created by celebrity satire artist Alison Jackson.

Honorary mother-in-law Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, is on-hand to help out with the festivities in a jaunty (and aptlt coloured) baby blue two-piece. She's got a cute teddy to pass over as a gift, while it looks like the "Born To Rule" quip has come from Her Majesty, no less.

As with any other baby shower, there's a fair smattering of cup cakes and balloons.

See below for the photos and a video of Alison discussing her work on A Mighty Big If.
