In a typically extravagant fashion, Kim Kardashian and her new husband Kanye West threw their daughter North an actual festival for her first birthday.

Dubbed 'Kidchella' - a play on the LA festival Coachella - the event took place at Kim's sister Kourtney's place over the weekend.

While the couple had celebrated their daughter's birthday, which fell on Father's Day, with a fairly low-key trip to the Children's Museum Of Manhattan, they went all out last weekend.

The festival had a range of different stalls, as well as a bouncy castle and face painting. However, the pièce de resistance was the huge ferris wheel which was also installed in the back garden.

True to form, all the Kardashians and Jenners posted up snaps of themselves enjoying the festivities, with Kendall and Kylie even taking to the karaoke stage (yes, there was a stage for karaoke), and belting out a couple of numbers.

Also in attendance was Will Smith's son, Jaden Smith who is good friends with Kylie and Kendall Jenner. Grandmother Kris decided to even post up a video of the teenagers all dancing to Rihanna's We Found Love.

Kendall Jenner enjoyed the dizzy heights of the ferris wheel.

Similarly to Coachella, there was a bo-ho, hippie theme to the day's proceedings with headdresses and kaftans being the order of the day.

Kim and Kanye west married last month in Florence, with both the bride and groom wearing Givenchy. Kim's gown was an Haute Couture lace gown with a long silk veil, and then later on changed into a mini dress by Balmain for the reception.

The wedding reportedly cost the couple a whopping £5.8 million ($10 million), with the bride's dressing alone costing £300,000.

Apparently, the couple also spent approximately £900 ($1,500) on a pair of diamond earrings for baby North too, who could be seen with pierced ears the weekend of her birthday.
