Watch Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams team up for Carpool Karaoke

Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams play sisters Sansa and Arya Stark in HBO’s Game of Thrones. But, as fans of the fantasy drama are all too aware, the duo haven’t shared a scene together since way back in season one, when – spoiler alert – their father Ned (Sean Bean) was executed at King’s Landing.

With the show now drawing to a close, many have predicted that Arya and Sansa will finally be reunited in Winterfell. However, until that fateful day, Turner and Williams (who are best friends in real life) have teamed forces for a stint on Carpool Karaoke.

That’s right; instead of blood, guts, and post-watershed violence, the duo will be airing their lungs for a merry sing-song behind the wheel.

However, the skit will not be aired on James Corden’s edition of the segment. Instead, it will feature on the Apple Music spin-off series, which will feature far less of The Late Late Show host.

Announcing the news via their official Twitter, they wrote: “STARKpool Karaoke? Lane Of Thrones? @SophieT and @Maisie_Williams from @GameOfThrones are shooting a #CarpoolKaraoke for @applemusic!”

Excellent pun work, guys.

The new half-hour series of Carpool Karaoke will pair up celebs, with one of them taking Corden’s place behind the wheel as they drive around (while singing) and visit places that are meaningful to one of the celebs in the car.

Pairings for the first season will include Turner and Williams, Corden and Will Smith, Seth MacFarlane and Ariana Grande, Chelsea Handler and Blake Shelton, and Alicia Keys and John Legend.

While producers initially discussed having a singular host, they quickly realised that “what James does on the Late Show does is so special and so singular and so unique, that it was silly … to try to replicate that”.

Executive producer Eric R. Pankowski continued: “What we fell in love with was the idea of almost doing 16 specials, because that's really what these end up being. Each one is its own event.”

Speaking about how the spin-off series will affect his own show, Corden added: “We're still going to do it on our show. This just became a wonderful platform to see these people in an intimate environment.

“You see people in an environment on television that you've never seen them in before.”
