Nigella Lawson stuns on cover of Vogue

Our favourite celebrity chef, Nigella Lawson, is set to appear on the cover of this month's Vogue magazine.

Lawson is pictured in a green lace gown with her hair up in a scruffy-but-chic beehive. She is also wearing minimal make-up, which is a complete change from her usual look.

Speaking during the exclusive shoot, Nigella said: "I was terrified of being photographed without make-up, and I hate having my looks talked up. It always makes me feel I’m going to be a disappointment in the flesh."

Inside the magazine, she is photographed in a long black gown, leaning against a wooden table.

The shoot is a big departure from her usual 60s-style, khol-heavy look. Last year, Nigella appeared in Stylist as the Beauty Director for our 200th issue, and even wrote about how much she loves wearing eyeliner:

"For me, make-up is Sixties make-up; I have been wearing eyeliner and pale lips since I was a teenager. And of course as I learned what make-up is from my mother, so my daughter learned from me.

I remember when my daughter was about 14, my sister said to me: “I see she’s inherited the eyeliner gene.” We all do a lot of eyeliner."

This is not the first time the chef has been daring on the cover of a magazine. She also caused a stir when she was guest editor of an issue of Stylist and appeared on the cover with salted caramel dripping down her face.

The domestic goddess has had a tumultuous time of late. After divorcing her husband Charles Saatchi, she then had to testify in court after two of her personal assistants, Italian-born sisters Elisabetta and Francesca Grillo, were accused of spending £685,000 on credit cards. The pair were later acquitted.

However, Nigella is now on the rise with her new show The Taste, in which she stars with two other chefs, Ludo Lefebvre and Anthony Bourdain.
