Rosie Huntington-Whiteley confirms pregnancy with beach snap

It seems as if bikini-clad announcements could be a strange new trend of 2017: hot on the heels of Beyoncé’s twin news, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has confirmed that she's expecting her first child with fiancé Jason Statham.

And, just like Queen Bey, she donned swimwear for the occasion – although the 29-year-old model left the veil and flower garden at home, instead opting for an enviable beach backdrop.

She captioned the photo: “Very happy to share that Jason and I are expecting!! Lots of love Rosie x ❤ Photo by @jasonstatham.”

One fan, noting similarities in Huntington-Whiteley’s pose to Beyoncé’s, commented: “Twins as well?” while others flooded the comments section with congratulatory messages.

Huntington-Whiteley previously hinted that she had some big news to share with her fans in January, when she shared a photo of herself with her horse on Instagram.

“Here's to fresh starts and exciting prospects for the new year,” she wrote. “Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2017.”

Huntington-Whiteley and 49-year-old Statham have been together since 2010, getting engaged in January last year – and the model has previously spoken of wanting to start a family with the Mad Max star.

Speaking to The EDIT in 2015, Rosie said: “Having a family is something I think about for sure, and whether I'd live here in America or in England. But it's not always as simple as that.

“I have no idea what will happen, but it'll be interesting to find out, right? And nothing will be perfect, I'm sure.”

Three years earlier, Huntington-Whiteley told Elle there would come a time in her career when motherhood would take priority over modelling.

“I always see myself working, but definitely being a mum will be a big part of me,” she said. “I think there is naturally a point where you think, ‘I don’t care about myself as number one any more.’ I want to care about other things.'”
