Sarah Jessica Parker hints at Sex And The City reunion: “It could be a series or another movie”

Sex and the City fans, it seems as if dreams can come true.

From The Gilmore Girls to The Worst Witch, it seems as if almost all of our favourite TV shows are making big comebacks at the moment.

And now Sarah Jessica Parker – aka Carrie Bradshaw – has hinted that HBO’s SATC could be set to do the same.

Speaking to the Press Association about the rumours swirling around her most iconic role, the actress refused to deny that a reunion series was in the works.

In fact, she even hinted that she and her co-stars – Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon – are all very much on board for a Sex and the City comeback.

“I don’t think any of us have said no,” she told them. “I don’t know whether it’s a series or the movie.”

When pressed for further details, the actress added: “I think that remains an open question and discussion that will continue until it’s been resolved.

“I think that’s always a possibility, definitely.”

Parker, Cattrall, Nixon and Davis last reprised their roles as Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte in 2012, for the Sex and the City 2 movie.

And, while the film wasn’t exactly critically-acclaimed, it did go down a storm with fans of the original TV series, which ran from 1998 to 2004.

However if Parker, who previously insisted there was more to the girls’ stories to be told, and the gang are going to reunite, we imagine it may have to wait a little while.

The 51-year-old actress is currently starring in a new |TV series for Sky Atlantic, Divorce, opposite Thomas Haden Church, in which they play a couple whose marriage is breaking down.

She’s also insisted the role will be hugely unlike that of her previous SATC stint, as “Frances is her own person.”

Speaking at the Television Critics Association’s press tour, Parker added: “From the moment I read the pilot, she was so distinct not only from Carrie, but any character I’ve ever played.

“I don’t think that we actually talked a lot about trying to make her different,” she continued.

“This story is different. I was always interested in the story of marriage. That’s how all this started. By virtue of that interest alone, it was automatically different.”

And Parker isn’t the only one who’s busy; Cattrall is set to star in a new TV adaptation of an Agatha Christie novel, while Nixon has landed the starring role in a biopic about Emily Dickinson.

Davis, meanwhile, has teamed up with the legendary Shirley MacLaine to star in a movie entitled Christmas Angel In Training

In the film, she will play a workaholic who, after meeting an untimely death, finds herself tethered to a guardian angel in a bid to learn the skills needed to become an angel up in heaven.

Divorce can be seen on Sky Atlantic from 11 October.
