Stylist at Anna Karenina premiere

There was a decadent feeling around London's Leicester Square last night (4 September), where chandeliers hung, red carpet was rolled out and Russian music heralded the arrival of some of Hollywood's finest talent.

It was of course for the world premiere of Joe Wright's lavish adaptation of Anna Karenina and Stylist was there to chat to some of the stars.

Jude Law, who plays Keira Knightley's husband, Alexei Karenin, was joined by lead star Knightley in a fishtail peach Chanel dress and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (who appears as Knightley's lover, Count Vronsky).

We caught up with Cara Delevingne (who wore a gold sequinned Burberry dress) and Alicia Vikander (who wore green Gucci) and asked them how it was working with Knightley for one of this year's most hotly anticipated movies.

"I was actually really nervous about the sex scenes," said Delevingne, who makes her acting debut in the film. "But Keira just told me to lose myself in it. Forget about me and be the character. I really took that on board. I think with modelling it's the same. If you don't think about it, you just find it."

Keira's co stars weren't the only ones gushing about the actress. When we spoke to the director, Joe Wright, he told us that, "she's more than my muse, she's my collaborator. Keira and I know each other so well now that I'm not sure which ideas were hers and which were mine."

Wright's re-imagining of Tolstoy's epic is undeniably glamorous. Alicia Vikander, who plays Kitty Shcherbatsky, said that every costume she appears in was hand sewn - and the film has already been likened to a musical in its ostentatious theatricality.

"It's an interpretation that Tolstoy would be proud of," said Jude Law to the crowds in Leicester Square. "Keira gives the best performance of her career and it was a pleasure to work with her."
