Web chat with Victoria Pendleton

victoriapendleton.jpg

Stylist were delighted to recently welcome Olympic Gold medallist and world champion cyclist Victoria Pendleton to stylist.co.uk for a live web chat, which you can read at the bottom of this page.

Whether you’re a keen cyclist looking for training tips, a beginner in need of motivation to get on your bike now summer’s finally here or simply want to know what it feels like to stand on the winners' podium at the Olympic games, Victoria will be on hand to answer all your questions.

With a cycling-obsessed father, Victoria learnt to ride a bike as soon as she could walk, and started grass track cycle racing at the age of nine. Talent spotted at the age of sixteen by a national coach, Victoria decided to concentrate on her studies, graduating with a degree in Sports and Exercise Science in 2002. But she kept up her training regime whilst at University, and went on to compete at the European Championships and Commonwealth games. Victoria won her first World Championship title in 2005 in LA, and was crowned Olympic Champion in Beijing in 2008.

Now gearing up for the London 2012 games, Victoria currently lives and trains in Manchester with the rest of the elite Great Britain Track Team, and as the face of Cycletta, (a series of women only cycle events on traffic-free roads), is committed to inspiring women to take up cycling, have fun and build confidence on two wheels.

The web chat is now closed, but you can read all of the questions and Victoria's responses below.
