The X Factor judge Kelly Rowland was left visibly stunned and speechless when told the news that contestant Frankie Cocozza was to leave the show - with the moment captured on camera.

Speaking to ITN's Lisa Snell yesterday (8 November), the interview turned to the subject of The X Factor, with Snell expressing shock at Cocozza's departure and asking Rowland what she could share about the situation.

A visibly stunned Rowland - who had been in the room giving back-to-back interviews all day - stared wide-eyed at Snell before slowly asking "what?". Looking to her team for information, Snell breaks the news that Cocozza has left the show and issued a statement on Twitter, before apologising for being the bearer of the news.

In separate footage, Kelly is seen saying "poor guy" in response to the news.

Cocozza's departure from the ITV1 show was announced yesterday afternoon, on the grounds that he had broken a "golden rule". It later emerged that his expulsion was due to boasts of drug taking.

Watch the video of the moment Kelly is told Frankie is leaving The X Factor below.
