Woman tries to sell children on ebay

womansellschildrenonebay.jpg

If you’ve ever gone online to buy a bag and bought three dresses instead, cheer up: you could have really overspent. An Australian woman recently posted her children for sale on eBay.

The nippers – both under 10 – came with photos and a sales pitch, and several bids were placed before the website removed the post. The woman, from Victoria, was tracked down by police and promised them it was a joke.

However, they warned of such a joke’s dangers. “What worries us is the people bidding on the auction,” police told the Herald Sun newspaper. “Who knows who these people are. They could be paedophiles or anyone. It’s extremely disturbing.”

The woman has avoided criminal charges but Victoria’s department of human services’ investigation is ongoing.
