We asked you to tweet us your role models with the hashtag #WomenIadmire for International Women's Day and have been overwhelmed by the response. Hundreds of you took part to tribute the women you love and respect, from writers and world leaders to close friends and relatives. Oprah cropped up more than once, as did Rosa Parks, Aung San Suu Kyi, Hillary Clinton and Meryl Streep.

But the majority of your #WomenIadmire tweets were reserved for heroic mums, sisters, grans and friends. We were touched both by the sheer number of tweets, and the eloquent ways in which you expressed your admiration for these brilliant women. Take a look at a selection of tweets below and keep them coming @stylistmagazine #WomenIadmire.
