Victoria Beckham: “Working mums should stop feeling guilty”

Many working mums feel guilty now and again about having to juggle work and home life, but pop star turned fashion designer Victoria Beckham says it’s time for women with children to stop feeling guilty and instead celebrate their achievements.

In a rare interview touching on her personal life, Beckham, who has four children - Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, tells with British Airways: “When you're a busy mum, you don't really have a lot of time to really, really relax. As a working mother, you should never feel guilty, you should feel proud.”

The comments, reported in the Daily Mail, accompanied a video about Beckham’s life experiences of travelling, as part of the airlines’ Make Your 2017 #unforgettable campaign:

She also said it’s a parent’s job to show children that a strong work ethic is important.

“You're inspiring your children in the right way, being a strong woman going to work.”

The 42-year-old became a mum for the first time in 1999 with Brooklyn, when she was still with the Spice Girls. Since her career has taken off as a fashion designer she has worked pretty much full time on her label – taking her line to New York fashion week and also opening a flagship store in London.

Beckham also reveals her biggest influence is her husband David.

“The biggest influence in my life would definitely be David. He's an incredible husband, he's a fantastic father, he does an enormous amount of philanthropic work, so he inspires me every day.”

And despite being one of the most famous families in the world, Beckham recently told Instyle magazine that her and her family try to be as low key as possible.
