In the hunt for talented travel reviewers, last month we launched a travel competition. The prize? A luxury break to Nira Alpina hotel in St Moritz, Switzerland and a review published in Stylist.
Out of thousands of 100-word entries, the winner was this piece by Sonali de Alwis, 28, who works for Sony Music in London:
Sonali ’s Travel review
“Resplendent and glorious, Sri Lanka is a land steeped in a rich indigenous culture. I travelled south to the culturally generous southern province of Galle. With waters of crystal clarity, Galle’s beaches are perfect for idling into absolute repose. Our hotel, The Fortress in Koggala, sat in an idyllic location; with exquisite views extending in all directions as far as the eye could see. With locally caught seafood on offer daily, an enviable year round climate, and the warmth of the local people, this is paradise not lost but found.”
