London during spring is perfect for a mid-week, after work date night. While it might not be the most adventurous of trips, it is one of the most exciting. To start, we took a stroll along the South Bank, and stopped for a drink just outside the National Gallery. The weather was balmy outside, and it was ideal for a spot of people watching with a refreshing glass of gin and tonic in my hand. But, stomachs rumbling, we decided to make our way over Waterloo bridge to head over to Soho for something to eat.
We stopped as the sun was setting to take photos of the OXO tower, the London Eye and the Shard. Arriving at the strand, we walked through Covent Garden as people were filing out of the theatres at the intervals. We made our way through to Soho and headed to The Crown and Two Chairman pub - one of the oldest in the area. Inside the lively pub we settled on eating upstairs, spotting after-work drinkers in the streets below. We tucked into a chorizo burger and a vegetable pie and washed it all down with a bottle of white wine. After, we strolled back towards the Strand and watched London from the ME hotel’s exquisite Radio Bar.
