My Travel Bag Essentials - Anna Hart

page-travel.jpg

Two years as Stylist’s globe-trotting Travel Editor has turned me into an expert packer, and today it only takes me 15 minutes. Meet the essentials that always deserve a space in my bag…

My Eddie Harrop Voyager bag is the perfect carry-on bag, swish enough to impress snooty French hoteliers, but sufficiently robust to handle being tossed in a Thai longboat.

I run and do yoga on the go, so I never leave without a pair of Hey Jo leggings, which are stylish enough to wear at night teamed with a vintage batwing top. My vintage poncho functions as a cosy blanket on the plane, then a luxurious cover-up for evenings. And my UGG Sayde deck shoes are the ultimate versatile travel shoe. Comfy enough to fly in, sturdy enough for a full day exploring and smart enough to wear to dinner.

For the flight, my Denon noise-cancelling headphones insulate me from crying children or oddball neighbours, and the sleek carry-case means they won’t get squashed.

I’m a ruthless editor of my washbag, so every product is a genuine belter. Institut Esthederm is easily my favourite suncare range, and their silicon and alcohol-free Sun Care Oil does double duty as a body moisturiser. Colbert MD’s Illumino Face Oil is the only product you need for your face, a nourishing, anti-ageing skin treat that leaves you glowing. I’ve got so many fashion and travel editor friends hooked on Colorescience’s SPF50 mineral powder brush which doesn’t budge in the heat or the surf, and doubles up as face powder. Becca’s Beach Tint gives my cheeks a healthy glow, and Fresh’s Sugar Lips range is everything you want from lip balm: a nourishing formula with a high SPF and enough pigment for you to leave your lipstick at home.

As for accessories, I’m in love with Kat & Bee’s clever, eye-catching jewellery, and my new Grandillo bracelet is a statement piece that’s ridiculously easy to wear. I found these indestructible laser-cut silicon earrings on Etsy which are perfect travel jewellery. I use a neon pouch as a travel document holder, then it works as a clutch bag when I land.

I always hit the beach in a Freya bikini because I love the retro prints, and variable straps mean you can change it up to avoid tanlines AND skip packing a multi-way bra. And I go for mid-priced sunglasses that aren't so expensive that you’ll cry if you stand on them.
